Obituary of Vincent R. Palo
It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent R. Palo, 75 of Republic, PA, announce his peaceful passing in his home on December 4, 2024, with his loving and devoted daughter and stepson by his side.
Vince was predeceased in death by his cherished parents, Alfred V. and Julia (Stabilla) Palo, and his wife and the love of his life, Joyce M. (Sabula) Palo. They were united in marriage at Holy Rosary Church on February 12, 1972, and were together for 21 years before her passing in 1993. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Alfred “Sonny” Palo and Frank A. Palo, and his sister-in-law, Kathy (Kosty) Palo. Vince was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Vince was born in Uniontown on November 2, 1949, graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic School, Redstone Jr. High, and Brownsville Area High School Class of 1967. Vince is survived by his beloved daughter, Danielle Palo, of Republic, his stepson, James Barchetti and wife Genavieve and step grandsons, James and Anthony Barchetti, all of Martin, PA, sister-in-law Roseanne Kacijancic of Uniontown, PA, his nephews, Ronald Palo and wife, Michelle of Monessen, Andrew Harvilla and wife Lisa of New Salem, PA, Richard Markovich Jr. and Collin Markovich of Uniontown, PA, his great-nieces, Lexie and Yvette Palo of Monessen, PA and Emilee Stiner and husband Jonathan of New Salem, PA, his precious cats, which he absolutely adored, Baby, Frankie, Phoebe, Bridget, and Squeaks, and numerous cousins and friends.
Vince was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, and the former partner parishes of Madonna of Czestochowa, Cardale, and Holy Rosary Church, Republic.
Vince retired in 2010 from O.C. Cluss Lumber Company, as a truck driver/material hauler, after 42 years of service. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local #491, where he served as a Union Steward.
Vince was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, attending Steelers, Penguins and Pirates games with his daughter. He enjoyed hunting, as well as being a Brownsville Bowling League member. He faithfully supported the California University Vulcan Men’s and Women’s Basketball Programs. He was a long-time member of the 365/6th-Man Club.
Vince loved to attend antique car shows and drag races. One of Vince’s favorite past times was fixing and racing muscle cars, especially his 1970 Chevelle.
Vince was fond of animals and loved to observe them in their natural habitats. He would feed birds, deer, squirrels, turkeys, raccoons, and opossums daily.
Vince was a quiet, generous, and kind man who supported various organizations over the years. He was a good friend to many, and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. One of his favorite sayings was, “Do Good, And Good Will Come Back to You.”
To continue Vince’s generosity, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that those so inclined do a good deed in Vince’s memory, or donate to your favorite charity in his name.
Vince’s family will receive friends in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA 15475 on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday, December 10, 2024, until 9:15 am when Prayers of Transfer will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am at the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Footedale, PA. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic, PA.
