Valeria (Lala) DeCarlo 95 of Republic, PA passed away peacefully on her birthday, Friday, September 12, 2025. She was born September 12, 1930 in Brownsville, PA. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Calabrese
. In addition to her parents, LaLa was preceded in death by her husband, Oresto “Butch” DeCarlo; sisters: Elizabeth Woods, Emma Augustine, Natalie “Nettie” Dayvolt, and Ann Beck. LaLa was a member of the former Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and a current member of The Historic Cburch of St. Peter. She was an active participant in her husband’s insurance business and an avid bowler in the Fairbanks Bowling League. She was also a proud member of the Circle Club. LaLa loved watching all sports, especially cheering on the Steelers and the Pirates. She had a lifelong passion for baking and found joy in sharing her homemade cookies and baked goods around the kitchen table with family and friends. Above all, LaLa was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Richard DeCarlo and wife, Robin of Mt. Dora, Florida, David DeCarlo and wife Susan of Republic, Lisa DeCarlo-Westra and husband Kevin of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren: Natalie Moncheck and husband Mark, Emily Pitek and husband Doug, Francesca DeCarlo and fiancé Tony Pacelli, Stephen DeCarlo and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren: Audrey, Avery, Ainsley, Owen, Lucas, Brooklyn and Landyn.
The family would like to thank Beechwood Manor for the outstanding care given to LaLa for the past 5 years and Amedisys Hospice for the loving care given recently.
LaLa’s family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, PA. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
