Bishop Timothy Wayne Shumar, age 63 of Menallen Twp., New Salem, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his home with his loving family and friends by his side. He was born on July 5, 1955 in Brownsville, PA, a son of John and Dorothy Dillinger Shumar.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Redmond Shumar and granddaughter, Shanna Daugherty.
Timothy is survived by his children: Linda (Shumar) Doss and her husband Nathan of New Salem, Beverly Daugherty and her husband Fred of Brownsville, Elizabeth Strickler and her husband Wade of Brownsville; grandchildren: Cheyenne Daugherty, Shawn Spohn, Bradley Daugherty, Kaylee Daugherty, Wade Strickler Jr., Charhea Strickler; brothers: Ronnie (Janet) Shumar of Republic, Joel (Donna) Shumar of Tower Hill, John (Barb) Shumar of East Millsboro, Dennis Holtz of Republic, Ted Shumar of Florida; sisters: Linda Workman of Ohio, Emma (Ray) Christopher of Brownsville, Priscilla (Bob) Tarr of Grindstone.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Kish Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Bishop Robert L. Swope. Interment will follow in Acklin Burial Park, Brownsville, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Way of Life Apostolic Church, 1068 New Salem Road, New Salem, PA, 15468.
