Robert Fuller Johnson, Jr. was 76 years old and made his home in Merritstown, PA. He was born in Uniontown on June 28, 1942 a son of Robert Fuller Johnson, Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Harden of Adah, PA. He died on February 12, 2019 in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown, PA.
Bob was a deep lover of dogs and horses all his life. He was fortunate to have good friends that rode horses with him, Kenny Shaffer and Jimmy Oakes. This is why his wife and family lovingly call him “Cowboy.” Bob was always ready with a story of his early years of hunting and baseball, and especially the time he spent as a boy working on farms. As an adult he felt fortunate to ride in western rodeos on the back of his favorite horse, Smokey; and it gave him great joy to tend to his mules, Razzy and Corky. In his later years he enjoyed his lake house at Pymatuning Lake in Jamestown, PA and riding around the lake in his pontoon searching for bald eagles and loons.
Bob was a member of 354 Plumbers and Pipefitters, the Building Trades Union, and also a member of Masonic Lodge 60 in Brownsville, PA.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sara Jane. He is survived by his wife, Madalyn Shumar Johnson; daughters: Dana Turcic (Michael) and Ashley Shamrock (Todd); grandchildren: Nolan, Wyda, Mia Turcic and Morgan and Bailey Shamrock; stepchildren: Richard Ferchak (Marcy) and Amy Ferchak-Petrie (Dave); step grandchildren: Shelby and Brooke Ferchak, Hunter and Trinity Sapp, David Petrie.
Bob’s family will be welcoming friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA. Additional visitation will take place from 10 – 11 a.m., the hour of his funeral service. Interment will follow in Acklin Cemetery, Brownsville, PA.
