It is with great sadness we share that our son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend Nicholas Andrew Barak passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 with his parents by his side.
Born on June 8, 1981 to Anthony Jr. and Rose Marie Makarun Barak in Uniontown Hospital, Nick fought a courageous battle with M S since 2013.
Nicholas was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter and a former member of Holy Rosary R. C. Church where he was an altar server for many years. He was also a member of the Star Junction Gun Club and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Association.
With a strong work ethic Nick started his working career with Jonathan Orbash the summer before his senior year. The day after high school graduation he began his employment with Chan Wood Products where he learned his millwright trade from Brian and Harold. With is buddy Brian there wasn’t anything they couldn’t complete, always having each others back and completing their work order.
He crafted our doors and moldings for our home and alongside with his buddy Mark they renovated Mark and Natalie’s first home.
Along with his bothers, they watched Star War’s movies and card collecting together.
Going to “Star Junction” with Casey and a Pirate game and casinos with Mark, Tom and Mike and gun shows with Brian were always good times for Nick. His Ocean City trips with the “Group” were always memorable. He always made his homemade lasagna for their trips, but he said it always disappeared before he got a taste. And he was always in our kitchen making his homemade pepperoni rolls, bread, sauce and meatballs, and pizza that were superb tasting.
Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anthony Sr. and Mildred Hadenak Barak and maternal grandparents, Vincent and Rose Beddick Makarun. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving brothers: Anthony and Meredith Barak and niece, Cecilia Rose and James and Nicole Barak and nephew, Ryan James. Also surviving are niece, Haley (Zack) Beasley and Shelby (Jesse) Peace and their children, Axel and Remi. In addition, he is survived by his loving aunts and uncles, John and Linda Ducar and Ronald and Charlanne Makarun and other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the professional care of Eric Hopkins, PA, EMS of Republic, Uniontown Hospital and the staff of the ER, the 1st and 2nd floor staff and Dr. T.
