Mildred G. DiCianna Mehalik Gabeletto, age 99 of Tower Hill 2 passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018. She was born in Tower Hill 2 on November 1, 1919 a daughter of John and Rose (Salain) DiCianna.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands: John P Mehalik and James Gabeletto; Siblings: Mary Vomero, Philomena (Minnie) Hollis, Yolunda Calameo, Joseph DiCianna, Theresa Russo, Angelina (Hasson) Danko, Salvatore (Sam) DiCianna, Carmella (Maizie) Bodnovich and Louise Saylor.
Mildred was a life long member of Holy Rosary Church in Republic. She was also a former member of The Son’s of Italy of Brownsville. Mildred’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of LaFayette Manor for the outstanding care given to Mildred.
She is survived by her children: John B. Mehalik and his wife Julie of Leland, North Carolina, Carol J. Dzavan and her husband George of Merritstown; grandchildren: Erika Fouch and her husband Chris of Perryopolis, Erin Dzavan of Merritstown, Lindsay Bower and husband Chris of Atlanta, G and Alexandra Pettijohn and her husband Brandon of Greenwood, Indiana; great grandchildren: Eliott, Emilia and Ethan; Siblings:Delores Bruschi of Republic, John Chan and wife Sandra of Redstone Township; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2108 in the Kish-Fabry funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA. Prayers of Transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville with Father Thumma Fathimareddy, as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Republic.
