Michael D. Hmelyar

Michael D Hmelyar 54 of Fairbank passed away on December 1, 2023 in the Uniontown Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on October 9, 1969, in Uniontown Pa., son of the late Michael J and Patricia A (Yocabet) Hmelyar.

Michael was a 1987 graduate of Brownsville Area High School. He was a member of The Newboro Indians Organization and Fairbank Rod and Gun Club. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding quads with his family; he also enjoyed gardening with his granddaughter. Michael loved his cats. He was employed by Nelson Steel for many years.

Michael is survived by his son Nick Thomas and his wife Katy of Hopwood, his son Adam Thomas and his girlfriend Chyanne of Newboro; a sister Linda and her husband Todd of Newboro, three grandchildren: Gage, Admire, and Niko all of Hopwood; a nephew Steven Edenfield of Newboro; also left to cherish his memories are many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends; and not to forget his one and only true love Bernadette.

Michael’s family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA where his funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will be private.
