Mary Elizabeth (Paugh) Check

Mary Elizabeth (Paugh) Check, age 92, of Republic, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Monarch Meadow Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on February 19, 1932 in Hibbs, PA. a daughter of the  Harold D. and Mary K. Fabian Paugh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Mike Check in 1993, sister Dolores Paugh, and brother Terry Donnelly.

A devoted mother who cared about providing a good life for her family. She worked hard and was formerly employed with Mt. Vernon Inn and the Dietary Department of Uniontown Hospital, from where she retired to provide care for her husband. She was a former member of the Holy Rosary Church and St. Francis of Assi. She enjoyed shopping, decorating and cooking.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter, Michele Kovacic and husband Edward; granddaughter, Emily; son, Michael Check and wife Debra, grandchildren: Michael W. and wife Sara, John and wife Sara, Irene and partner Dave, and Kristen and husband Steve as well as great grandchildren: Kaylee, Corey, Lily, Carson, Emma, Davey, Christian, Stevey, and Grayson. Also numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. 
 

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the staff of Monarch Meadow Personal Care Home for their care, support, and love. Her Amedisys Hospice team and nurses, Brandy and Logan. 

Mary’s family will received friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, Pa where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic, Pa.
