Margaret L. (Labons) McAteer

Margaret Labons McAteer, age 97, of Republic, Pa, passed away on January 20, 2019. She was born on February 2, 1921 in Detroit, MI a daughter of John and Bertha Pango Labons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. McAteer. Margaret is survived by her children: Armand Vereist of Oakdale, PA, Marcella Falconer of Sturgeon, PA, Martin J. Vereist of Newport News, VA; grandchildren: Jennifer, Sherry, Steven, Richie; great grandchildren: Evan, Tegan, Ethan, Mason, Lilly, Austin; sisters: Charlotte and Rose. Margaret was Catholic by faith and a former member of the Church of Madonna, Cardale, PA. Margaret’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday. January 25, 2019 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 legion Street, Republic, PA. Prayers of Transfer will take place at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville with Father Thumma Fathimareddy, as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, PA.
