Lawrence R .“Larry” DiSilvestro, age 70, of Penncraft, PA died Thursday January 24, 2019 in UMPC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on April 8, 1948 in Connellsville, PA, raised in Republic, Pa and resided in Penn Craft, Pa. until his death. He was the son of Gabriel and Amelia “Nellie” (Argenti) DiSilvestro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Louis DiSilvestro, two sisters Catherine Rowan and Caroline DiSilvestro; father in law and mother in law, George and Alice Illig.
Larry was a member of the St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Footedale and a former member of the Church of Madonna of Czestochowa in Cardale. He was a former insurance agent and sold furniture for many years for Mundell’s Furniture, Montgomery Ward, Roomful Express and Timeless Traditions. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, working outdoors, traveling and had a witty sense of humor. Larry will be sadly missed by his family but remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather of 6 wonderful grandchildren that he simply adored.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Connie (Illig) DiSilvestro; daughter, Janice Juliana and her husband Joe of Uniontown, Pa; son, Larry DiSilvestro and his wife Dana of North Strabane, Pa; grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexander and Joseph Juliana and Dominic, Logan and Delaney DiSilvestro; sister, Kristine DeCarlo of Yulee, Fl; several loving nieces and nephews.
Larry’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. on Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 19 Legion St. Republic and Tuesday until 9:30 AM. when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. in St Francis of Assisi R. C. Church (Footedale worship site) with the Rev. Fr. William G. Berkey as Celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to the medical research society of your choice.
