James "Jimbob" Huhn Obituary

James O. “Jimbob” Huhn, age 67 of New Salem passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at WVU Uniontown with his loving family by his side. He was born in Uniontown, Pa on November 26, 1957, a son of James and Evelyn Coughenour Huhn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Stebok; father and mother-in-law, Pete and Irene Zawelensky.

Jimbob is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Marcia Ann Zawelensky; son, Ryan Huhn and his wife, Danielle, and grandson and his best buddy, Anthony; daughter, Sadie Huhn; brother, Thurman Huhn and his wife Lisa; nieces: Holly Sumey and her husband, Herbert, Jr. one of Jimbob’s best friends, Celeste Cavalcante, and Jenifer Crossley, brother and sister-in-laws: John and Kathy Zawelensky and Pete and Debbie Zawelensky; many nieces and nephew; several cousins; James and Maryann Blosser who were like a brother and sister to him; and his beloved pet dogs.

Firefighting was his passion for more than 53 years. He currently served as 2nd Assistant Chief of the Adah Vol. Fire Dept.; a member of Chief Williams Hook and Ladder Co. of the Uniontown Fire Dept.; and as a Deputy on the Fayette County Hazmat Team. He was also involved with many fire departments within Fayette County making countless friends, always willing to lend a helping hand with anything from assisting on fire calls to making pork sandwiches or slicing tomatoes for hoagies.

A fireman’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Adah Vol Fire Dept.

Jimbob’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday 1/2/2025 and Friday 1/3/2025 at the Kish Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, Pa. Prayers of Transfer will be prayed at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at the St. Francis R.C. Church (Footedale Worship Site), New Salem, Pa. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, New Salem, Pa.
