James (Jim) Mehalik

James (Jim) Mehalik, age 65 of Smock, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Uniontown Hospital with his loving family by his side after a year long battle with cancer. He was born on January 6, 1953 in Brownsville, PA, the third of seven sons to Martin and Violet Brownfield Mehalik. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Martin, Charles and Robert.

Jim was a retired member of the Construction Laborers Union Local 286.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Linda Mehalik; daughters: Shanna Mehalik and Toni Mehalik; grandson,  Julian Mehalik; step children: Denise, April and Dennis; thirteen step grandchildren; brothers: Roy and his wife Betty, Matthew and his wife Renee, George and his wife Marge; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Legion Street, Republic, PA. where additional visitation will be held until 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, the time of his funeral service. Interment to follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. PA.
