Elizabeth “Liz” A. (Skrobacz) Kish, 77, of Uniontown, died on February 16, 2025, with her devoted husband having never left her side. Always a woman of great strength, she simply tired in her fight with health complications.
Born on June 15, 1947, to Joseph and Anna (Kuba) Skrobacz, who affectionately called her “Dolly”, Liz grew up in Hibbs, PA, and was a 1965 graduate of German Township High School. She obtained her Cosmetology license in Uniontown and practiced the trade for some time before retaining a career at Rockwell Int. for more than forty-years.
Liz met her husband, Ronald Kish (her “Ben”) at New Salem Bank when he noticed her GTO, which was also the car he drove, and so started a deep and lasting love story of nearly fifty-six years. They married on July 26, 1969, at St. Procopius Catholic Church in New Salem.
Liz, with her husband, lovingly raised three children at their home in Uniontown, filling those happy years camping and traveling up and down the East with a pull-behind trailer. Liz enthusiastically supported anything her children and husband pursued. Her dedication to her family was unmatched, and she proudly jumped at any chance to serve her family with love.
Liz’s family and friends will remember her for taking her original 1966 GTO to countless car shows over the years. She had an artistic side that saw her doing ceramics in her younger years, making every holiday decoration on her own, doing arts and crafts projects, making homemade gifts for loved ones, and enjoying Diamond paintings. Friends will mourn her absence at the AMVETS where she most recently began going to enjoy music and a good time.
Liz was an adoring grandma that loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and watching them grow up.
Left to treasure her precious memory are her loving husband, Ronald Kish; her children; Todd and Amy (Poundstone) Kish, of Hibbs; Tara Kish and Edward Lipin, of Alberta, Canada; Kara Kish of Allenport; grandchildren: Ethan Fike and Ella Fike, brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Melissa Kish; George and Mary Beth (Kish) Berger, Jane Kish, James and Mary Kish; special cousins Ron and Jane Verbonach and family; several cousins, nephews and nieces; and her Shih Tzu, Chip.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband’s parents, John and Ann Kish, aunts and uncles, and was the last living member of her family.
Elizabeth’s family will receive friends in the Kish Fabry Funeral 19 Legion St Republic PA Friday, February 21, 2025 from 3 to 8 PM and Saturday until 9:15 AM when Prayers of Transfer will be recited followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial in the St Therese Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA. Interment will be private.
The family asks that in lieu of floral arrangements, please donate in her memory to the Fayette Friends of Animals.
