Charles Adey Obituary

Charles William “Bill” Adey, age 71 of Brownsville, PA, passed away peacefully on September 17th, 2018 at the Uniontown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a very lengthy illness.

He was born October 25th, 1946, in Grindstone, PA., the son of Charles and Margaret Adey.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Billy was preceded in death by his two brothers, John “Jack” Franks and Harry Russell Zetty, as well as his nieces Starr Erjavec, Fawn Paes and Jeannie Zetty, and great-nephews Stephen Sisson, Brandon and Tyler Hager.  Billy was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Adey and Virginia Zetty.

“Uncle Bill Twill” is remembered most for collecting baseball cards, coins and records.  He loved to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers, and he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.  His favorite foods were peanut butter fudge, banana popsicles and chili.

Billy is survived by his dear sister, Kathleen (Adey) Erjavec, as well as her children, who he considered like his own, Terri Erjavec, Marla (Scott) Behm, Jim (Amy) Erjavec and Katie Erjavec (Scott), his brother Bob Adey of Connellsville PA and his family, many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.  He loved them all so dearly.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and Army Reserves.

“Uncle Bill Twill” will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and they will always remember his smile, his love for his family, and his famous (and many times “not-so-funny-but-you-had-to-laugh") “Uncle Billy Jokes”.

A special thank you goes to Billy’s nurse, Kaylynn, for her compassion and kindness towards he and our family.

Finally, a very special thank you goes out to Bill’s sister Kathy, as she was there for him and stuck by him every step of the way throughout his illness.  She never gave up on him and did whatever she could to help him throughout his life.

Billy, you fought with everything you had for many years.  Now it is your time to rest in peace.  We love you.

The family will receive friends in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 19  Legion Street, Republic, on Thursday, September 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, and Friday, September 21st, until 10 AM when a Prayer Service will be held and officiated by the Reverend Brian Kelley. Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park.
