With deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Carmen Bruschi, 70, on January 21, 2025, at WVU Uniontown Hospital. A beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Carmen’s warmth, wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Carmen was born at Uniontown Hospital to Dolores Bruschi (Chan) and Enrico (Henry) Bruschi Sr. He grew up alongside his brother, Enrico Bruschi, Jr. (Ricky). He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1972, where he began building the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication.
For 44 years, Carmen worked at US Steel, starting on the batteries. He then worked his way to the #1 Control Room and finally into management. Known for his strong work ethic and leadership, he was a respected colleague and mentor to many throughout his career.
In 1973, Carmen married the love of his life, Frances Bruschi (Berisko). Their 51 years together were a testament to enduring love, partnership, and devotion. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.
Carmen loved to ride his Harley Davidson, traveling across the country for bike weeks and trips to Sturgis with his wife and friends. Carmen loved watching and going to Penn State football games with his family. His friends and family always knew to never walk in front of the TV or call during a Penn State game.
Carmen also loved to build and start projects around his house and for his children. Most recently, he bought a cigar shop post-retirement and enjoyed lounging, socializing, and smoking cigars with his customers.
Carmen had a strong faith and spent his life leading others to Jesus. He served at the First Christian Church of New Salem as a respected elder and led various Bible studies throughout his life. Despite his intimidating appearance, everyone who met him loved him and described him as a "big teddy bear." He is well-known for helping anyone in need at the drop of a hat. Carmen was a loving and doting husband and father who was the epitome of what a husband and father should be.
He is preceded in death by his mother (Dolores), father (Henry), and sister, (Cynthia). He is survived by his wife Frances Bruschi (Berisko); his brother Enrico Jr.; his 4 children, Rachael (Tony) Salvucci of Pittsburgh, Joshua (Sara) Bruschi of Connellsville, Rebecca Bruschi of Spring, Texas, and Karmen (Corey) Hall of Elizabeth; and 10 grandchildren with 1 more due in June.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carmen’s life at Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. in Republic, PA. The viewings are scheduled for the following days: Friday, January 24, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Saturday, January 25, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. The funeral will be on Saturday, January 25, at 10:00 am in the funeral home.
Carmen’s legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
