Anna Mae (Millan) Chan, age 94 of Baltimore, MD formerly of Republic, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 24, 1924 in Redstone Township, a daughter of Mary E. Millan Oaks.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Chan (Salvatore DiCiani); sons: Charles Petno and Joseph Petno; brother, William Millan; sisters in law: Mary Vomero, Minnie Hollis, Yoland Calameo, Teresa Russo, Angelina Hasson Danko, Louise Saylor, Mildred Mehalik Gabaletto, Carmella Bodnovich; brother in law, Joseph DiCianna (Chan).
Anna was the past owner of the Esquire Lounge in Brownsville and the Knotty Pine Tavern in Allison. Most of her years were spent as a home maker.
Anna Mae is survived by daughters: Diana Petno of Pittsburgh, Sandy Chan and her husband Melvin King of Baltimore, MD; son, John Petno and his wife, Jeanie of Florida; grandchildren: Kelly Backo, Gregory Woodell, Robert Peterson, III, Joe Petno, Tony Petno; sister in law, Dolores Bruschi of Republic; brother in law, John Chan and his wife Sandra of Redstone Township; many nieces and nephews.
Anna’s family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday until 11 a.m. the hour of her funeral service with Pastor Andy Miles, Officiating. Interment to follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
