Rose Terrace

December 19, 1938 ~ April 29, 2019 (age 80)

Rose Marie Terrace, age 80 of Republic, PA passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Cherry Tree nursing Center, Uniontown, PA. She was born in Republic, a daughter of Anthony and Anna Tassone Terrace. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters: Shirley Anderson and Connie Terrace; brothers: Anthony Terrace, Jr., and Donald Terrace.

Rose is survived by her brothers: Ronald (Verlaine) Terrace of Englewood, OH. Dennis Terrace and Diane Sherbaugh of Uniontown; sister in law, Barbara Terrace of Sterling Heights, Michigan; brother in law, Rolfe Anderson of Springboro, OH; several nieces and nephews.

As a teenager Rose was an avid rock and roll fan especially Elvis Presley. She could be seen around town a wearing tee shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, earning her the nickname tennis shoes Rose. She spent much of her time with youngsters, many of whom she recruited to assist her in various community fund raising activities. In later years she succeeded in providing structure and organization to these same youth, when she founded the Republic Independent Little League Baseball Organization. In later years she became owner and operator of Ann’s Grocery Store in Republic. She was a life long member of Holy Rosary Church and never missed more than a handful of Sunday Masses throughout her lifetime. She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking with her mother, to whom she was deeply devoted throughout her entire lifetime. Many will remember Rose for her annual 4th of July firework displays. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the loving care shown to Rose.

Rose’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, PA where her funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Republic, PA.
